I’m officially back to working seven ten hour days a week with only every other weekend off. Add in two to four hours every weekday evening to get my comics done plus a few more on the weekends to finish my now overdue Kickstarter from last year and I’m starting to drop a ball here and there.
So if I’m not writing back or keeping in touch, that’s probably why.
Would I have rather bought a cheaper house and work less. Yeah, but it was important to me for my kids to have their own rooms, so I’m stuck at the grindstone for the foreseeable future unless I can make art pay more or be offered some job I haven’t thought of yet.
The only bright spot is I’m headed on a weekend mini vacation in early may, my first actual vacation in three years. Unfortunately I’m stuck in The same situation I was back in 2004 where I’m to stressed to take off more than a day at a time due to the work building up at work while I’m gone, since no one else is trained to do my job.
The more it changes, the more it stays the same.
